Isn't ironic that on friday my specialist asked if I was having problem with swelling in my legs? I said "no" and today my ankles are swollen up like balloons. I think they may have been swelling for a while but I hadn't realized it. I noticed a few weeks ago that socks were bugging me. My ankles were itchy. Now I realize it was swelling. Duh...

  1. Is that a problem your new medication will help with?

Keep those ankles nice & limber for dancing! ;o)

  2. Aw, I'm sorry your legs are swollen. That's a terrible feeling. Although, my socks ALWAYS bother me, regardless of if I have swelling going on. I can't stand anything on them.

  3. Yah Julie, I have a bunch of symptoms of hypo-thyroiditis that hopefully the meds will deal with. I've been having problems with my eyes swelling but hadn't realized my ankles were swelling as well. When I wake in the morning my eyes are all puffy and swollen. It may take weeks or months to find the right dosage.

  4. I also hope to put an end to those awful foot cramps I've been getting in Belly Dance class.

  5. You poor thing. I hope the meds are sorted unusually quickly and they work wonders for you.

  6. Thanks Erin, In the grand scheme of health problems it could be a lot worse. It is very treatable and controllable I just have to get to that point and at least I am on the road to feeling better now. It just seems to affect everything. My sister says the symptoms are very similar to her lupus symptoms. When the doctor asked me about anybody in my family with auto-immune diseases and i told him my sister had lupus he had an "aha" look on his face. I don't have lupus but I guess there is a correlation between the two. Apparently about 35% of lupus patients develop thyroid problems too.

  7. This is true. I have Lupus and haven't yet run into that... but heck, I think I've gotten everything else possible that could go with it so far, so why not throw that into the mix? ;) I'm glad you're on the road to recovery.

  8. Yes, I remembered you saying you had Lupus, that is why I mentioned it. My sister too, seems to have single complication. :(

  9. You know what really seems to have helped me out the most? Going vegetarian. I don't know why, but it has really made all the difference. My joints don't hurt nearly so badly as they used to. My pancreas isn't acting up. I just feel better overall. I do hope you both find some relief. There's nothing worse than feeling badly!

  10. Ooh, lucky you. You just may have to join the compression-stocking club!
Hope the swelling gets better. Put your feet up, higher than your heart without bending the knees, and maybe that will help.
