What is Stephen Harper Reading?

http://www.whatisstephenharperreading.com
For book lovers everywhere!!! This site was created by author Yann Martel to document his attempt to open Stephen Harper's mind to creative thinking. Every two weeks he sends a book to Harper along with a letter encouraging thought and discussion around the theme of the book. It is doubtful that Harper has ever read any of the books. The letters (and responses from the PM's office) are fascinating to read. One day I hope to make it through all the books on the list myself. Ironically, Yann Martel recently received a handwritten fan letter from President Obama.

  1. Shouldn't it be called "what is Stephen Harper NOT reading?"....

I applaud Yann Martel's efforts; I really wish our Prime Minister would "get" the importance of arts and culture. Gosh, it makes me cringe just thinking about the jerk man.

PS.. on Twitter I'm following Scott Feschuk's "VoiceInPMsHead".... hilarious. Here are some of yesterday's tweets:

All reporters in budget lockup. Perfect time to hold press conference. No questions? Press conference over. See you in two years!

Hope media doesn't find out that 28% of infrastructure stimulus spending was directed toward Jim Flaherty's new hairdo.

Buying him Frank McKenna's Fast 'n Easy French was a mistake? RT @Heritagexplorer: Why didn't anybody get Furlong a copy of Rosetta Stone?
